What is an inverter?

The inverter is a device used to convert low voltage direct current (DC) power from a car outlet or battery into alternating current (AC) power required by most power tools and home appliances. Based on the waveform, the inverter is classified into pure sine wave inverter and modified sine wave inverter.

How to choose a suitable inverter?
To choose a proper DC to AC inverter is quite important. The inverter selection depends on the type of equipment to be powered and the amount of energy to be consumed by the equipment.

For the application on resistive load, such as laptop, TV, electric cooker, LED light, an inverter with continuous power higher than the a rated power of the appliance is highly recommended. For example, the power inverter with continuous power of 2500W is suggested to power the appliance with rated power less than 2500W.

If the inverter is needed to power the inductive load, like compressor, motor, and water pump, please choose the inverter with the power 3 to 7 times higher than the rated power of your appliance.

Is there any tip for inverter usage?
1. Turn on the inverter first before the load is switched on. For shutdown, users shall turn off the load first, then disconnect the load from the inverter, and finally turn off the inverter.
2. Please use the standard battery cable delivered along with the product to guarantee full power output.
3. Connection to the mains supply is strictly forbidden. Reverse connection of the battery is also prohibited.
4. Overload is not allowed. For the inductive load such as motor, water pump, and air condition, users should choose the inverter with rated power at least 5 times higher than the load’s rated power. The data obtained shall be less than the rated power of the inverter.
5. In case the red light is on and an alarm is sent out, check whether there is overload and confirm if the storage battery is fully charged.
6. Shut down the inverter when it is not in use.

Trouble Shooting

Symptom Possible Cause Solutions
ON/OFF switch is on, but LED does not light on. Buzzer is off. There is no AC voltage. There is no voltage at the DC input terminals. 1. Check the continuity of the battery input circuit.
2. Confirm if the battery fuse is intact and replace if blown.
3. Ensure that all connections in the battery input circuit are tight.
ON/OFF switch is turned on, but LED does not light. Buzzer is off. There is no AC voltage Polarity of the input voltage has been reversed, causing internal fuse blowout. Correct the polarity of the input connection and replace the internal fuse (Note: Reverse polarity may cause permanent damage). If the unit does not work after replacing the fuse, the unit may be permanently damaged. Users can call technical support team.
Buzzer sends the alarm once and LED turns RED when ON/OFF switch is turned on. The start surge load is five to seven times of its rated power. Wait for a few seconds until LED turns to green, which indicates the normal operation of the unit. No other action is required.
Buzzer alarm makes a sound every 10 seconds and LED turns RED when ON/OFF switch is turned on. The load is 120% higher than the rated power. The inverter buzzer will beep every 10 seconds. 1. Disconnect the load

Buzzer sends the alarm twice. Voltage at the DC input terminal reads between 10-10.5VDC 1. Confirm if the battery is fully charged. Recharge it if the power is low.
2. Make sure that the battery cables are thick enough to carry the required current over the required length. Use thicker cables, if required. 3. Tighten the connections of the battery and input circuit.
Buzzer sends alarm for 3 times. Voltage at the DC input terminal reads between 9.5-10VDC 1. Check if the battery is fully charged. Recharge it if the power is low.
2. Confirm the battery cables are thick enough to carry the required current over the required length. Use thicker cables, if required.
3. Tighten connections of the battery input circuit
Buzzer sounds an alarm for 4 times. Higher input DC voltage than 15.0VDC 1. Check that if the voltage at the DC input terminals is more than 15 VDC. 2. Ensure that the maximum charging voltage of the battery charger/alternator/solar charge controller is below 15 VDC. 3. Ensure that the non-regulated solar panel or wind turbine is not used to charge a battery.
Buzzer sends out alarm for 5 times. System overheating 1. Make sure the fan is working. If not, the fan/fan control circuit may be defective. Call Technical Support Team. 2. If the fan is working, make sure the ventilation slot on the suction side and the openings on the discharge side of the fan are not obstructed.
3. If the fan is working and the openings are not obstructed, confirm that enough cooling air is available. In addition, please check that the ambient air temperature is less than 113F º (45º C).
4. Reduce the quantity of load to decrease the heat release.
5. In case overheating is eliminated and the unit cools down, the inverter will reset automatically.
